Get to know Athens, the capital of Greece along a daily walking cultural tour, led by one of BOREAS’ experienced guides. The tour starts from the Acropolis: on the Sacred Hill, we will visit the Propylaea, the Erechteion and the Parthenon, symbol of classical antiquity; from here we will also enjoy an astonishing panorama of the city of Athens and the region of Attica. On the slopes of the Acropolis Hill we will visit the Odeon of Herod Atticus and the Theatre of Dionysus before starting walking along the narrow streets of Plaka, the old city centre and one of the most picturesque quarters of Athens. On our way, we will visit the roman forum and the ancient Agora, that was the main public space of ancient Athens, where the philosopher Socrates used to hold his discussions! Along the way, you will also enjoy a typically Greek aperitif, the so-called meze.
Are you interested in the byzantine, early Greek, modern history of Athens or do you have any other special interest? Feel free to make a request and we will be happy to organise a tailor-made tour for you FREE OF CHARGE in order to meet your expectations!

Following BOREAS’ daily cultural tour you will have the opportunity to discover Athens as rarely seen and explained by one of BOREAS’ expert archaeologists and tourist guides! Not only will you visit the famous ancient monuments, such as the Acropolis, but you will also have the opportunity to experience the lively modern city and the everyday life in the Greek capital.
This is a walking tour in a highly touristic urban area. Climbing the Acropolis hill is not difficult, but it can be somewhat demanding especially in the mid-summer. Traffic in Athens can be chaotic and parked cars can block the passage. During the warm season, you should carry with you a hat, sunscreen and water. Comfortable walking shoes are advised. The Plaka area is particularly crowded, so special attention is advised to your personal belongings.
Among the highlights of this tour are:
