Mount Olympus, Enipeas Gorge Half Day Hike

Mount Olympus is a mythical place, associated to the presence of the ancient gods! Hence it remained in the imagination as a place of light, which is also the meaning of its name. But above anything else, Mount Olympus is a mountain of stunning natural beauty, with unique flora and fauna. Its position, right on the Pierian coast of the Aegean Sea makes it a place of encounter between alpine heights and Mediterranean mildness!

For those who wish to discover the beauty of Mount Olympus with considerably less physical effort than a full day hike, we have designed an alternative, easier programme, suitable for all people in average physical conditions! We depart comfortably at 08:00 and arrive at St. Dionysius monastery. Following a 2-hour hike we arrive at Prionia, crossing some of the most beautiful sceneries of the Enippeas gorge! Time at leisure and lunch (not included) for those who wish to do so at Prionia and on the way to Thessaloniki short stop at Litochoro.

The ‘half day hike’ adventure tour is an easier version of the Enipeas gorge hike: following this tour you will visit the most characteristic places around the old Saint Dionysius monastery and enjoy some of the most beautiful landscapes of Mount Olympus.

Although the ‘Mount Olympus’ is an adventure, nature-related tour and therefore requires a good physical condition, it is not a ‘technical’ tour for hard-core hikers, that also amateurs can enjoy con little effort the beautiful landscapes of Olympus’ nature and the joy of hiking the Mountain of the gods. Comfortable clothing and walking shoes are strongly advised for this tour.
